Hearing of “Tyrol” lets one think inevitably of winter, snowy peaks, silent turns in the snow, rustic huts and plenty more. Around Imst, there are countless possibilities for friends of sports in winter.
“Skiing made easy” is said in the child-friendly skiing area of Hoch-Imst! Directly at the valley station, there are Pros of the ski school awaiting young and old with help and advice.
With the free bus, more skiing areas like Hochzeiger – Jerzens or the glacier of the Pitztal valley are easy to reach for our guests – this way, they can experience their holiday even more.
A friendly get together at tobogganing with cosyness at a hut, like the Untermarkter Alm or the Latscherhütte, is wonderful for young and old – whether in sun- or moonlight. The four most beautiful natural toboggan runs of the outdoor area Imst offer everything a winter sports enthusiast’s hearth could wish for.

The idyllic cross-country route with its 35,5 km is exactly, what one imagines about cross-country skiing in Tyrol. It is one of the healthiest sports there is: cross-country skiing is particularly easy on the joints and at the same time is the perfect whole-body workout, as almost all muscle groups are exercised.
Perfectly maintained cross-country trails with different levels of difficulty invite beginners as well as experienced cross-country skiers.
Hiking while snowflakes are falling
The region around Imst is a wonderland for hikers not just in summer. Numerous winter hiking paths invite you to discover the snow-covered landscape.
Through the snow-covered Gurgl valley
“No hour of life is wasted that is spent in the saddle.” In the holiday region Imst, we go along with that! To non-riders, families with children, but also enamored couples we recommend a romantic horse and carriage ride through the wild and romantic snow-covered Gurgl valley. Strong and good-natured Noriker horses pull the carriage or sledge, and all participants can look forward to a warming glühwein or tea.
With sharp blades on the ice – this cheerful and artistic sport is possible on many ice-skating rinks in the region. With our guest card, there is free entry to the ice-skating rinks in Imst, Mils and Nassereith! In Nassereith, you can also lend ice-skating shoes for free!
A Rollercoaster of the Alps
Not only in summer, but also in winter, it is possible to ride with the world’s longest alpine rollercoaster. Wrapped up warm, this fun should not be missed when staying at the holiday region Imst!
